Become a Corpsmember

The SGV Conservation Corps (the Corps) is a private, non-profit organization that has been helping at-risk young people develop themselves since 2003.  To date, more than 10,000 young people have participated in the Corps classes and service projects, learning new skills while contributing to the quality of life for all of us in the East San Gabriel Valley area. Develop technical and personal skills through educational and work programs, which enable him/her to advance his/her own personal and career opportunities.

Through self-motivation and with support, corpsmembers work to fulfill their education, development, and work plans by setting goals and objectives. Corpsmembers work with their staff to achieve the skills necessary to improve their employability. We guide young adults and school-aged youth with opportunities for success through job skills training, education, and work experience with an emphasis on conservation and service projects that benefit the community.

Corpsmembers are on their feet continuously during working hours. Extensive walking is required. Corpsmember does very physical work that uses both their lower and upper extremities continuously. Corpsmembers work outdoors under adverse environmental conditions for extended periods of time. Corpsmember plant trees, clear brush, construct and maintain trails, recycle, perform litter abatement, do landscape work and construction work.
