SGVCC 
Urban Farm and Edible Garden

Our Urban Farm @ the San Gabriel Valley Conservation Corps (SGVCC) program and provides to local,  youth through the Healthy Harvesters program which provides hands-on work skills and job training in organic farming.

Our Urban Farm is a multi-acre work-training and educational urban farm located in the beautiful Santa Fe Dam Recreational Area, in Irwindale, CA,  east of downtown Los Angeles.

Our Urban Farm aims to facilitates multiple partners with education programs benefitting the surrounding communities.

These programs include workshops in organic farming, farm-to-school education, Harvest Tours, Community Supported Agriculture, Farm-to-Table, and volunteer opportunities.

Our Urban Farm uses organic farming practices and grows a diverse array of crops.

FARM-FRESH PRODUCE

Our delicious, organically grown produce is affordable and available to you year-round. While you wait, our farmers will go into the field and fulfill your order on the spot! Easy, fresh, local and affordable, as the slogan goes – be local, buy local!

Volunteers are vital to the ongoing operation of Earthworks Farm! This means that our community’s help is always appreciated and Earthworks Farm is dedicated to providing our local community with fresh, organic produce as well as educational opportunities.

Farmers Market

Produce Stand is open every Saturday 10am – 1pm and Farm-Fresh Direct is open Tuesday – Saturday. Please help save the environment and bring your own bag.

Healthy Havesters

Youth who are enrolled in any SGVCC program have the ability to join the Healthy Harvesters program. Some of our youth attend the Youth Build Charter High School and others are enrolled into our various work programs.

Our youth workers, 95% are Latino, and between 16-24 years old, living at poverty level, and are considered at risk of dropping out of their local high schools. Through Healthy Harvester, they have the opportunity to earn a small stipend, while cultivating farm land and reaching out to the local community

Workshops and Classes

Throughout the year, SGVCC Urban Farm staff holds workshops on the practices of sustainable and organic farming. Requests for a workshop on sustainable farming and organic gardening can be submitted by clicking here.

A staff will contact you to arrange time and date for your group, organization, agency or school.

Spanish speakers are welcome.
